A dear friend and I started reminiscing about "the good old days". When natural food stores were rare, natural sections in main grocery stores unheard of, food co-ops and buying clubs were the way to go. There are still areas that rely on buying clubs but they aren't as plentiful as they were when I started down the health food path. The company "Mountain Warehouse" that was based in Durham, NC closed in 1991 due to the changing times. Cyn and I started reminiscing about all the great products we got from there. One of my favorites was Nettlerose Shampoo. Loved the stuff. Over the years since I moved from TN, I've put out feelers on the web for the company who made it. I think I finally found it--and it appears to have gone out of business too. Community Soap Factory. While surfing, I found a small company that carries a Nettle Shampoo. It's touted as a great treatment for thinning hair or hair that is falling out. I have neither (ask my hairdresser) but I couldn't resist trying it to see if it is as good as I found the Nettlerose years ago. Nostalgia can be both fun and sad--realizing all the great products that have come and gone and nothing as good replaced them.
