The two fireplaces are built with approximately 50 tons of rock found locally. The mantle of the fireplace in the main dining room is solid black walnut.

dang, was there a quiz after breakfast?

No, just a cool place with a lot of history. I didn't get a photo of the fireplaces but the mantle was beautiful.

Was the breakfast as good as I would imagine? I can't see such a unique "log cabin" not having good food.

Definitely logger-style breakfast. Huge slabs of country ham, cinnamon buns the size of plates. My sister got a pancake called a "flatcar" that was plate-size. I had scrambled eggs and hash-browns that were great. Definitely don't go away hungry.

Check out the cinnamon buns on the plates the gal is holding.
