Red-Breasted NuthatchOk. NOW the Nuthatch. He didn't stick around long so I have a short video of him. I wish I had the cam up when the red-shafted flicker spent a good amount of time hanging from the bottom of the cage. The woman at the bird store said her flickers had no problem with the cage and came from the top or bottom. Mine struggled with the side one day but the bottom definitely seemed to be the place to chow down!
I love the name. Wouldn't you love to have the job of naming birds? How does that work? If you discover the species do you get to name it?

I'm not sure. I'll have to look that up. I know it works with comets. :)
Some are a little odd but not as odd as those insects Steve finds! They have very odd names. At least birds are more descriptive and reasonably attractive names. LOL

I love that feeder - where did you get it?

I have no idea. I think someone gave it to me for Christmas. I do know where to buy one locally and I'm sure there are feeders online. It's great to watch the squirrels get frustrated. I thought maybe the flickers would if the cage was too frustrating but the flicker just hangs upside down to feed. I love to watch them!
