My Grown up Dreams

Last week I watched "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch. What an amazing person. If you have not yet seen his lecture or any portions of it, you can catch it on youtube or http://www.abc.com. There were so many inspiring messages in his lecture and one of them in particular struck me. His Childhood Dreams. I realized I don't really remember having one when I was a child but I have certainly have been making them as a grownup. So, if I document this in my first blog, maybe I will work a little harder at achieving them?

1. Be Prosperous (that is a given, but at the top of my list anyway)
2. Win a Regional quartet contest
3. Own an iphone :)
4. Develop an advanced and professional website for a non-profit organization
5. Complete my back yard garden
6. Re-design my current home ... enlarge the kitchen, master bedroom and relocate the laundry room....etc.

I may have more, only because I am not really all that grown up just yet.

1) Nice list indeed! I really got a lot out of Randy's speech and just today I watched his 70-minute lecture on Time Management. It was phenomenal. Check it out if you have the time. :)

4) Good to see you on Humzoo! Great idea for a blog too. Makes me want to make my own list. It's amazing how things change over the years so much, but my childhood dreams are still plenty relevant. Randy Pausch is amazing, and his lectures are inspiring to say the least.

5) I had a co-worker back in MN who was in a barbershop chorus. They toured and performed all the time. The one trip I remember was to Sydney, AUST. That is awesome--hope you win!!

Oh, and welcome to Humzoo! :) We'll look forward to the videos of your performances when D&D get that developed for us. :)

10) Sweet Adelines is a non-profit organization, like Girl Scouts. In each region, there are several chapters. I am a member of the St. Louis Harmony Chorus Chapter, located in Kirkwood, MO. We are part of Region 5 which includes, central IL, part of IA and a teeny tiny part of KY. Our yearly Regional competitions are held in Springfield, IL.

it's pretty sweeeet!!!
