POP vs. SODA, I finally have proof!
It has been an argument in my family for many years, I say Pop, he says Soda. I was getting gas at Road Ranger and saw the SiGN! It is official, here in Springfield it is POP!

No more arguing, this is Proof!

4) I say it's soda, although I agree with Dave too. I cringe every time I hear someone say "sodie."

8) NO!!!!!! That's the worst!

My .02 cents: "Pop" is a loud sound, the act of making that sound, or a father-type figure. It's not a carbonated beverage.

13) I grew up in Michigan and it was definitely Pop. When I moved to NC and heard them say, "I'm going to get drinks." I thought they meant alcohol.
Sodie pop is what they call it on Heehaw.

14) when I was in the South it was "Coke". You'd say "do you want a Coke?" and then you'd ask what kind of soft drink...Coke, Sprite, etc. But you started out calling everything Coke.

19) We're soda here in Bloomington, but my dad is from Southern IL and he always called it sodie pop. Weird. I also agree with LGrant that every carbonated beverage in the South is Coke and all chips are Doritos.

20) I'm with Linda, franklins, and Angi. All carbonated drinks are Coke to me. Then again, I'm from NC.
