Monday, August 25th, 2008Monday Well...the Olympics are over and at 34 weeks (midwife and I) thought we might not even make it to the opening ceremonies. My body has adjusted to the baby and tomorrow I find out if I have progressed anymore. Being somewhere in the neighborhood of 2cm and 50-80% for over a month as well as sporadic contractions here and there has had all of us on pins and needles. We really wanted to make 37 weeks and knew Jack would be a healthier baby if he made it to 38-39 weeks. The restrictions on my activities has allowed him to grow and thrive in my body. Now I am one day past my due date. (40 weeks and one day) This is typical for first pregnancies and boys. I know there is an end in sight, I just don't know where that finish line is.
Yesterday, Matt and I enjoyed a day with my parents, sister and her daughter. It was my Dad's birthday and my sister's anniversary. We had a nice relaxing afternoon visiting with them and my grandparents. We then had dinner with Matt's parents who kept Vader for us (allowing her to run around in their backyard). Today is Vader's third birthday. Matt took her to Petsmart Saturday for some toys.
So we sit and enjoy the cooler weather (mid-80s) and overcast skys. Hopefully he will join us soon. No one more anxious than Matt and me. "Talk" to all of you later!

I know you're getting anxious waiting for him but you'll be holding him in your arms before you know it. And trust me...it's going to be love at first sight ! Hang in there and enjoy every minute of it !
