Most ot the Commonwealth War Graves you see in the Somme area are from WW1, but in the village cemetery at Lancheres are these of soldiers of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders who perished in 1940, taking part in the Dunkirk evacuation.
I have been warmly welcomed at a gite there a number of times, just across the road.
