Sarah and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

I hate today. Wednesday, July 9, I hate you.
Mr. Shoo was snoring and woke me up at 5:16 a.m. My alarm wasn't set to go off until 5:23 a.m. I hate waking up before my alarm...especially when I don't have time to go back to sleep.
I ran this morning, and it was sticky again. I couldn't do my extra mile like I wanted.
A student told me he couldn't believe my hubby was a good programmer because of his sucky website.
I didn't have time to eat my bagel this morning because my kids were being needy.
I had an awful day at school.
My head is pounding like crazy.

I think I'll move to Australia.

::Edited: Because I'm not sure how much I'm supposed to blog about school per the contract that I signed. Sometimes I wish this was anonymous.::

1) Make sure Mr. Shoo give you a massage and cooks you dinner.....or he could take you to Little Saigon.

2) LG, I'm totally directing Mr. Shoo to your comment. Yum....Chinese!! I had onion rings from Sonic for lunch. I should eat a healthy meal tonight, but I'm pretty sure it won't happen.

4) Are you teaching summer school? College? Year round school? I hate to say that my son could have been one of your described students. I apologize to you, symbolically, for all the teachers he may have terrorized. Do something nice for yourself tonight.

5) First of all...I swear by ear plugs (the soft squishy kind that don't hurt). I would NOT still be married without them. I wish I'd started years ago.
Second...Your students are being very fresh and you need to be TOUGH!!! Scott has been teaching this year (first year) in an alternative high school with some very difficult students. He had a lot of training in how to handle a variety of situations. I know I don't have to tell you that if teens think you are vulnerable they will go for the kill. Don't tolerate it!!
Finally, what gives the teacher the right to berate you? I'd tell them that if they have a problem with you you'd be happy to discuss it in the Principal's (or whoever is in charge in the summer) office. It sounds like you were being bullied. I hope tomorrow is a MUCH better day for you.

6) You should go home, eat a fluffernutter sandwich with a side of oreos, while reading a trashy romance novel and watching bad VH1 reality shows.

7) I'm sorry your day sucks. I hope you take hayley's advice and Mr. Shoo takes you out!

8) Sorry to hear you had such a obnoxious day. Understand where you are coming from---my whole week has kinda been that way.

9) You guys are great! One of the million reasons I love Humzoo.
Leslie, I could write a whole post about this one student. He's just a condescending jerk. I also let myself get roped into his immature argument. I wasn't on my A-game today, and it showed in my exchange with him. (Not that I deserved what he said...I just forgot to be the adult.)
As for the other teacher, he's another one I could write an entire post on. He's just a character. Now that I'm in a better state of mind, I realize that's just him. Right? No, but it's just who he is. I did nothing wrong. He's just an odd duck.
LG, I love crazy noodly type things. They're yummy...up there with fluffernutters.
Hayley, I did the next best thing...a really long nap. I am thinking oreos are in order.
Pam, I'm directing Mr. Shoo to your comment as well.
After a long nap, I'm in a much better mood. This morning was awful. This afternoon has been quite peaceful. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd amend my title.

10) If my kids behaved that way to any teacher, and I got wind of it, my kids would be the ones having the very bad day. As the lyrics go in one of my fav Journey songs, "Be good to yourself."

11) Kristina, you'd be surprised at what parents let kids get away with now-days. I'm finding more often than not, parents blame the teacher and not the kid. Again, I could tell a whole ton of stories...and possibly if I was anonymous, I would.

12) I am just pissed the kid said I had a crappy website, it's a blog turd burglar (shameless plug - http://gotshoo.com - http://spfldbloggers.com - I promise they're not crappy). I'd like take a look at his MySpace page and tell him where to stick his glitter graphics and default Master of Puppets background music.

Leslie has some great advice.. the squishy ones.

Even though I had a flat tire this morning (that's two in one week for those counting) - Let me know what you want for dinner.

13) You probably shouldn't be drinking booze in the morning Mr. Shoo. No wonder your websites are sucky.

14) I guess it has come full circle, Mrs. Shoo. When I was in school the teacher was always right and we'd be in trouble whether we deserved it or not (and yes there were times when we did NOT!). I admire you for handling your day as well as you have done. Naps never hurt and I have been known to do that after a really bad day. Puts the balance back. I say go with the dinner out or Mr. Shoo making dinner and relax and put the day behind you. And maybe invest in those earplugs too. :)

15) Mrs. Shoo - I hate to hear that you had a crappy day. I can honestly say that I am a parent more likely to side with the teacher then my child - she is no angel and def not perfect and I dislike parents who think their kids are perfect (meaning older children - babies are just about as perfect as you can get - even when they are cranky)

17) This is why I love Humzoo. You all are great.
We have to go get dog food tonight. I'm pretty sure we'll get earplugs as well.
I definitely don't think the teacher is always right, but it makes me so irritated when parents right off the bat say that the teacher is against the student blahblahblah. There are times the teacher is out of line, but more often than not, it's the student. Most teachers don't go out of their way to get students in trouble. (Again, I know there are those who do.)
Good quote, !

18) Dog food and earplugs! I hope you get them both from the same place and buy nothing else. The images it evokes of you two standing there with just those two items, just like you had the sudden urge, is amusing to my little mind.
