Always a Bridesmaid...Already a Bride
Dear Body,
You and I haven't always liked one another. In fact, throughout most of my teenage years I hated you, and I'm going to assume that you didn't really like me during college, considering all the crap I put into my body.
I know this past weekend in St. Louis and Kentucky, I put all kinds of junk into you, including I don't know how much grease from Burger King. But this week I've been so good about what goes into you. I've eaten my daily servings of fruits and veggies. I only went down to the school cafeteria for fries one day. (I only have so much will-power. Even I can't resist french Fryday.)
I've also taken you out running twice this week, plus lifted weights with you. I've worn comfy clothes and flats to make you happy.
What I'm asking of you is to help me. I'm going bridesmaid dress shopping today, and I don't want to end the day hating you. It really doesn't make me feel good about myself when I hate you. I want to cover mirrors and wear sweats and hide in bed for days.
I'll make a deal with you: You make me look good today, and I'll take you out running three days next week. We'll lift weights a couple days as well. I'll give you your daily does of veggies and fruits and stop drinking soda. Just make me feel good today, Body.
Thanks,
Mrs. Shoo

1) Sounds like a fair deal to me, Mrs. Shoo. Hope your body agrees!
