The Dogs and the Groomer
When Buddy doesn't want to do something, he'll do anything and everything in his power not to do it. Clancy usually goes along with Buddy in such cases.
Buddy and Clancy both love Petsmart. They love to sniff the toys, pee in the aisles, take bags of treats off the shelves...but Buddy freaks out as soon as I open the door to the groomers in Petsmart. He cries. He plops his butt down on the ground. He tries to pull out of his collar. Clancy takes his cue from Buddy and tries to run the other way, which would be comical, except that I'm holding two dogs, while trying to open a door and not lose my purse or trip over the leashes.
As Buddy is refusing to move today, Clancy spots a beagle he wants to say hi to...Great. He went running towards it. The woman holding onto the leash looked terror-stricken because a crying, loopy dog is running at her and her dog. One arm is holding a leash with a dog refusing to move, and the other is being ripped out of socket by the dog wanting to get friendly with the cute little beagle with the pink collar. I was also standing in the doorway at this point, and my face got slammed into the glass of the door. I'm looking really put together at this point, like I'm a really good puppy-parent.
If I thought I could get both dogs out of Petsmart easier than I could get them through the door to the groomers, I would've taken them home. But I didn't think that would be any easier.
I finally kicked Buddy into the door and shut it on him. I yanked Clancy's leash, then picked him up and carried him through the doorway.
The Petsmart groomers were watching my little workout the entire time. Although they got their own fun with my dogs when I turned the leashes over to them. Bud refused to move, and Clancy nearly knocked the girl down.

Now, I have had both 80-pound dogs try to go after cats, rabbits and/or squirrels while I'm holding the leashes--I just turn into Cesar Millan, and all is well. "CHHHH!!!" LOL
We take our dogs every couple months for the professional bath/nail clipping. We think it's worth it also.
