Bowling with Tyler

Denny & Dylan have been out of town, so it has just been me and the dogs for the past couple of days. I invited Denny's youngest brother Tyler over last night. It was a hard decision for him. He had to choose between coming and hanging out with me, or going to the YMCA with his roommates. He chose me, so I guess I am one step up from sweat and chlorine.

I went over to pick Tyler up at his house after work, and Tyler opened the door before I could even get to it. I think he was excited to see me. I told him that we could get food from anywhere he wanted or I could cook him up something really yummy. After some deep contemplation, he decided on Taco Bell (that is my kind of guy)!

After dinner, Tyler and I fired up the Wii and started playing some bowling.

Needless to say he is good at video games, and he easily beat me the first game.

We played some other games, but bowling was by far his favorite. My favorite Tyler quote of the night (which I heard countless times), "You better catch up with me."

The dogs weren't really interested in the games, but we had a lot of fun.

I don't get to do a lot of stuff with Tyler one-on-one, so this was a special night. I hope to do it again soon! Thanks for the fun evening T-bird!

1) Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I lost Dylan. I think I know where she might be though. I was at CVS last night and I think I left her there. That was the last time I remember seeing her anyway. I am going back this morning to see if they still have her. I'll report back later today.

2) Denny, don't go until bedtime. That way, you can get plenty done first. She's probably helping out with liquor sales.

Niki, you're so sweet. Good for you for keeping Tyler out of trouble. You know how things get out of hand at the Y.

I could go for some Taco Bell.

4) Sounds like a fun night. Is this a first without Denny OR Dylan around? I don't remember you mentioning both of them leaving you behind before. Do we get details of where they are going besides CVS?

You have to feel pretty special to beat out the Y and roommates and chlorine and get to eat at Taco Bell and bowl with Tyler! Sounds like a fun time!!

5) Tyler rocks at bowling. I wouldn't want to play him! He would totally beat me and that is the only game on Wii where I have beat anyone. Have a relaxing time to yourself. When are they coming back?

6) Linda, Denny and Dylan left Wednesday to join Rose & Dennis at the beach. He is working from there and Dylan is playing with the grandparents. I had to be in the office yesterday and have a funeral to go to today, so I opted out. They will be back tomorrow afternoon. It has just been me and the dogs, but I am getting a lot of stuff done and working from home today. I have to mow the grass tonight and get ready for a baby shower that we are throwing for our friends Jason and Sarah next weekend.

7) Our dogs look the same way during video game time. They just aren't interested.
Random story: At Petsmart the other day, the groomer tried to tell me that Buddy is a full-blooded dachshund. I told him that he wasn't, that he was larger than normal dachshunds, and the guy argued with me. I wish I would've had this picture to prove it to him.

8) Sounds like you are making good use of your alone time, Niki. Glad they got to go to the beach--sorry you had to stay and work and go to a funeral instead. I'm sure Tyler helped keep things entertaining--even if Beck and Emmet didn't seem too entertaining that night. :)
