Busy Bees
As usual, we are busier than ever around our house. This past weekend we had friends come into town on Friday night for a couple's baby shower they helped us throw at our house for Sarah & Jason Alexander. My friend Margaret and her daughter Hannah arrived after work on Friday night and we headed to Charlotte to meet up with everyone. It ended up being after Dylan's bedtime when we got to the restaurant, and she was not a happy camper. She finally got in bed at 10pm that night when we got home and we paid the price severely. She only slept a few hours off and on, and needless to say we were very tired on Saturday. We worked hard on getting ready for the shower that about 30 people attended. It was an earth-friendly shower with organic foods and gifts and was a lot of fun. My parents were at the shower too, so we had an automatic babysitter for Dylan while we mingled with friends. The group spent the night on Saturday night and then left on Sunday morning. Denny went to work on the sailboat some more and I got the house cleaned up.
We had a birthday party to go to at Gymboree on Sunday evening, and Dylan really had fun. She was one of the younger kids there. That was our first Gymboree experience. We then went straight to Denny's parents house in Mooresville at 7pm to attend another family birthday party and got home around 9pm that night. Tonight we are going to Denny's brother's house, where Kitch is cooking the family dinner and we are celebrating Grant's birthday. Tomorrow after work we drop Dylan and the dogs off in Winston to stay with my parents and head to Asheville to eat dinner with Bob and Pegi Pike. Thursday morning we get up early to go to Springfield to visit the Heinzel's. I am really looking forward to the visit and can't wait to pick up some Northern lingo.
We come back on Monday night and then next weekend we are off to the beach with my family for the long weekend. I like to stay busy, but I am definitely in need of some down time. Hopefully the Heinzel's will chauffeur us around all weekend and show us the royal treatment. It will be pretty cool to be in the presence of the director and star of "The Yellow Car."
PS- Pictures of Denny passed out on Saturday night with all of Dylan's toys stacked on top of them will be hitting Humzoo soon.

P.S.- The shower was so great!
The shower was wonderful. Bob and I have commented several times about what a joy it was to be with our children, their buddies, their buddies' children and their buddies' parents. It was a delightful, multi-generational event. Thank you.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. We'll have dinner ready but you can go straight to bed if you need to!!!
I need email addresses for you two. Need to check on sleeping accommodations, etc...
I just emailed you, so you can write me back. Denny and I are bringing an air mattress because that is what we will use in IL. Unless Ethan will give up his bed. Denny and I sleep separately due to our religion. He is comfortable on the floor. Thanks again!
