june: eleven months
Dear June,It is hard to believe that my little "bug" is now 11 months old. I last wrote to you 5 months ago. You are funnier than ever these days. You are also a maniac that I can't keep still. You started crawling right after you turned 8 months, and have not slowed down since. I can't keep you out of anything. You even started trying to climb the stairs by yourself this morning. You are able to walk around with the assistance of us or your walking toy, but have not started walking on your own. You seem a little afraid of the idea, so I am guessing it will be after you turn 1 before you start walking on your own.
At your 9 1/2 month check-up you weighed 22 lbs. 1 oz. You went in for a sick visit in the middle of February (10 1/2 months) and you were 23 lbs. and 5 oz. with clothes on. You are still my chunky monkey, and I can't wait until you can walk because I am getting tired of carrying you. You love to eat, and eventhough you only have 2 bottom teeth (the first broke through on January 10th and the second one on February 15th), you have moved on from baby food. Even if you are not so sure you like a certain food, you seem determined to eat it until the last bite. Your favorite things to eat right now are cheese, crackers, green beans and frozen blueberry waffles. In 30 days, you are going to pretty much be eating what the family eats. You are a master now at drinking from a sippy cup, so hopefully weaning you from breastfeeding will go pretty smoothly in April.
You really enjoyed the holidays this year. The grandparents can't get enough of you. You seem to really take everything in and are not too afraid of strangers. Nothing makes you too unhappy, but you do get really upset when we tell you, "No."
We took your pacifier away right after you turned 9 months, and you never had a problem. You still sleep like a college student. You have gotten a bit louder, but your only real words are Mama and Dada. You love to wave, clap and give kisses. The dogs are super interesting to you now and you can't stay away from them.
Your favorite thing outside is swinging and you can't keep yourself from laughing when you do. You just seem to really love life!
We are going to have a bluegrass and BBQ party for your 1st birthday. I am sure you are just going to devour the cake. It will probably be even funnier than your sister's first bite of cake. I can't wait to see you really blossom over the next few months. You are so full of personality. You and your sister will probably have us laughing (or crying) for many years to come!
Love you more than you know!
Mommy
