Is That Crack In My Allergy Medicine?
This weekend was the most productive weekend ever, and I think I have OTC allergy medicine to thank for that. I have been procastinating ever since we moved into our house about reorganizing the 2 upstairs guest bedroom closets. Well this weekend, I did just that. Denny has been sick, something he probably caught from Dylan so he was down for the count all weekend. I have never heard him complain more about his ailments and ask me if I thought he had a fever then in the last 48 hours. I know he wasn't feeling well, so I decided to take on the yard work this weekend and I decided to do some spring cleaning too. I have had some sinus/allergy stuff this past week, so when Denny picked up some OTC Claritin D on Saturday, I thought I might try it. Granted, I have not taken any OTC remedies since before I got pregnant with Dylan, so maybe it worked better on me than the average Joe.
First I started off by cleaning out Dylan's closet/room, out with the old infant stuff and in with the new spring line (or whatever will fit considering she is like the smallest 13 month old ever). Then I got around to cleaning out the other closets too. I also mowed the lawn, seeded and fertilized, put down some straw, killed weeds with my hands and with the spray. Went to Target, the grocery store and Lowes. I also finally weaned Dylan off of the last feeding this weekend. Might I add that Denny did the taxes and helped with Dylan, the shopping and fixed dinner yesterday. I literally sat down for a couple of hours on Saturday night to watch some TV with Denny, but could not relax. I kept getting up and finding stuff to do around the house. It was really kind of crazy the energy level I was at.
I was very sore last night and tired, I thought that I may have a hard time getting up this morning for work. But no, woke up right before my alarm went off at 5am. I don't even feel that tired. As you can tell, I was either super-motivated this weekend or on crack, or a little of both. I do have a severe case of cottonmouth. I think that the government should really investigate the legality of Claritin D again; you may find someone selling something similar on your local street corner.
Wow! Niki you were a machine over the weekend. I have never gotten so much accomplished. If you still have the energy, fly on up here. I have to do some major cleaning and just don't want to do it. Wish that I could take the allergy meds to give me a boost and to motivate.
You killed weeds with your bare hands? Who are you Chuck Norris? Dang woman!
Thanks so much for all you did this weekend! I didn't see you much but I do remember a familiar looking blur of light zip past me every once in a while. I barely even recognize our house now. Thanks for all the TLC and hard work fo realz!
Dang! You know, it's still WINTER here in the Midwest, but as soon as we get that first glimmer of Spring, oh long about August, we might just call you down here to take care of some household and outdoor things for us, Niki - yeah, you and your Claritin Crack D. Nice job!
PS. How do you do that with a little one? I can't get anything done...like right now, my toddler is hanging on my left arm, wanting a hug and Gwen is running over my toes with the walker. GEEZ!
Denny did help out with Dylan; she also takes like a 3 hour afternoon nap, so that helps. It was cute though, she stood at the front window and waved while I was out in the yard. When I first started working on the closets, I closed her in the room with me and she "helped" (by taking everything out of the drawers I was organized).
Nice work this weekend! You are the bomb.com!
You even put your mother to shame! I didn't do a third of what you accomplished, but my ENT did take me off of Claritin D. I knew that stuff made me feel better. Now I know why you have to sign for it!Sounds like Dylan is strictly a cup girl from here on out- you did such a great job nursing and pumping. You really are an awesome mom!!!
Wow... That is one serious list of accomplishments!
