I was hoodwinked, bamboozled...
Okay, for the past couple of weeks, Mr. P and I have been discussing a motorcycle purchase for him. For the past few months, we have been trying to drive only one vehicle but it has been rather hard with the kids going in two directions plus our own activities. This means that more often than not, he has to drive his truck.
I sat down with him a month ago and showed him how much money we were spending in gas and it really shocked him. He doesn't do the bills so he is pretty in the dark on these things. Well, next thing you know, he is talking about wanting a bike. I am thinking "Great, lets head on down to Dane's Discount and get you a nifty scooter!". Apparently it is not what he had in mind.
So, I did a little looking and considering that I have never known him to own a bike, thought a new Kawasaki Ninja 250r would do fine since he was just going to use it for in town commuting. Now, we called around and there was a waiting list...finally, we ran across a dealership in Decatur that had one in green (which was not something we planned to consider). But, since he did not want to wait until the fall, we went to purchase it:

So, we get there, he looks at the bike, sits on it and....he thinks it is too small. He tries to convince me that is not an engine issue but a frame issue...yeah right. So, the next thing I know, he is walking around the showroom floor looking at other bikes. Now Rick, a great guy, looks as if he knew this was going to happen all along. Yes, I believe he was in on the conspiracy too. Needless to say, a different bike was purchased. I am going to have to use a stock photo to document this but soon I will post pics of one happy husband next to his new best friend (how quickly we throw the truck aside Mr. P!)...

Niki - I doubt he knows what a blog is.. we will have to babystep that one.
Will - I think his truck get a good 14 mpg so he definitely looking forward to the gas savings. I will say that my heart drops every time he pulls off. I seriously put in a call to make sure we were set on life insurance as well. He promised that he is not interested in hurting himself but when guys get together with their bikes....
Hey Will, you just brought up something I hadn't thought about! Now, I am sure he will never be available to pick up the kids for me because he will say say "Sorry honey, I am on the bike." LOL
