Hi, ho Hi, ho to the mountains we go

Richard and I are packing for our trip to Asheville and Cedar Mountain. We are leaving Saturday and will stay in downtown Asheville at the Haywood Park Hotel the first night before we head out to Cedar Mountain. For those of you who haven't had the Asheville Experience, its one you don't want to miss. Its just the most exciting town I have ever had the pleasure to live in or visit. Richard and I used to go in on Saturday nights to have dinner and just people watch. We have had dinner at the Jerusalem Cafe and watched the belly dancer, participated in a drum circle in the park, attended the symphony, gone ice skating, love the Arts walks on Friday evenings, ate in several great places and our most favorite attended and married in Jubilee on Wall street. Yes, I miss it but I'm glad that we can get away to visit once in awhile. Pegi and Bob are fortunate to be living in such a rich cultural area not to mention just being in the mountains.
I will be trying to get ready for my first gallery show the end of September. This coming week is "open studio" week at the Hemlocks and several artist get together to catch up on their projects and give assistance and helpful critiques. In the evenings I look forward to sitting on the front porch and drinking wine or Bloody Marys and enjoy the mountain music of the night creatures. No air conditioning needed and I always get the greatest sleep with the windows wide open and cool evening air drifting in.
This will be the first time Richard has actually stayed with me. He will be visiting one of his hunting buddies and I just bought him T. Boone Picken's new book to read.I am hoping he will feel well enough to take some short hikes. We both want to go and visit Dupont State Park and see the wonderful waterfalls. I can't decide if I want to visit Adams at our old place, the barn in Pisgah Forest. I would like to see the new wood floors but I also think it might send me into a depression, it seems like the longer I am away the more I miss it.
On our way home we our going to detour to Huntersville to see some family and of course our newest grand, Charlotte. Hopefully we will get to see the other 5 too. They are all so busy going to school.
Anyway, friends and you too Beano-I will miss talking to you and reading all the good and entertaining stuff that goes on in Humzooland but I will catch up with you about the 15th.

1) Mountain sleep like clear spring water in the mountains is the best! Cold, clean, fresh, luv-er-ly. Now I'm whistling the song from Snow White! Enjoy your time in Asheville--one of my most favorite places in NC!! Maybe the country!! :)
