1) I'm from Springfield. The guy I created this site with, Denny, is in North Carolina. We have begged, pleaded and bribed our friends and family to sign up, so a good portion of the members are from IL or NC as well. We do have several other states covered though: SC, KY, NY, OR, CA, MO, ID, and one time we had a dude from England sign up. Not sure what happened to him though.

2) Thanks for answering me Dave. I have been a member of a message board for about 8 yrs now and we are all over the USA but manage to actually meet up on occassion. Just wondered if ya'll were the same or not. I live in a small town about 45 minutes south of Springfield off of 55. My friend coaxed me to come here cause she fell in love. lol

3) I'm in NC, but I'm not related. I saw a small add for this place in a local magazine. I came to check it out and I liked all the photos. I like the personality of this place. I like the photo contest. There is just a nice atmosphere here.

4) I'm in California. I get the impression most folks are in the mid-west and east coast. I love to compare the political and social attitudes of the folks here on humzoo with the people around me here in Cali. I've been nudging my friend Hannah, who's in Conn. to start her own page here.

Dave! maybe we could have a "Where in the World" page where people can put a pin on the map for where they're from. Or, you could have, for the Humdingers, a gadget where they can make a map of their own and put pins in it for all the places they've been.

5) Born, raised and still in Springfield. I have been contemplating a move to Indiana but there is too much going on in the world these days and everything seems to be unstable so for now I will stay.

Found this site from reading the Heartland article in SJR, realized I went to school with Dave, knew he was always a character and Humdingered away.

8) Well, I didn't go to school with anyone and have never met Dave or Denny in person; however, I have met Courtney on a few occasions through her mother, Bobbie, and I've been friends with her sister-in-law, Cindy, for quite awhile--ROCK ON, Cindy! HA!! I started just going out to Dave Heinzel dot com to see photos of the Heinzel nieces, but got hooked...Dave does that to folks.

Anyhoo, I hail from P-town--Peoria, Illinois--born there and raised in East Peoria, an EPCHS grad 25 years ago...the reunion is in September. YIKES! I did a brief stint in Springpatch from '94-'99, making lasting friendships and meeting my husband, Bill a/k/a Pastafarian. We relocated to B-N for me to finish my teaching degree at ISU, then we had a couple kids and now, I'm a SAHM to Galvin and Gwendolyn, who are in need of a nap. So, see ya' Runt - have a nice day!!

9) Damn Courtney, I knew I remembered you from school but for some reason I was associating you with SHG. I went there for a year and a half then switched. Lets see, my last name was Hernandez, then my mom decided to finally change it to my dad's last name as long as it was hyphenated so it was Hernandez-Renfro, even though I usually cut the Hernandez out lol! This was my fathers punishment for not marrying my mother before I was born I guess. Thank goodness I got away from all that crazyness and got married. You should see my diplomas, high school has one last name, LLCC has another and UIS has yet another..

13) Courtney do you or Dave remember a guy (I think he was part Asian) named Andy that went there? He was in the class of 96 (I think). I never knew his last name, never saw him hanging out with anyone, always saw him getting picked on though. My friend Adrienne and I were wondering about him a while back, not sure why, he just keeps invading my high school memories...

14) I'm from Northbrook by way of Chicago, by way of Michigan. I've known Courtney and a few others on this site since 2005--we were all pregnant with babies due in April of that year and met online.

15) hmmm....Andy doesn't sound familiar at all. As a rule, I generally tried to befriend all the people that everyone else picked on. Remember Brian Ogan? I used to feel bad for him and tried to talk to him, but the dude totally shunned me. It was weird.

16) Man, I totally forgot about Brian! I tried to befriend Sarah Kwedar once but that didn't go to well. Adrienne and I both tried to befriend Andy. He would shuffle through the halls and then hide in the doorway of classrooms during lunch. We tried to find him a friend, a girlfriend, a hobby. He wasn't having it. After a while, every time he would see he would literally run the other way. Oh well, I tried. As for Brian, never tried to befriend him but I probably had my reasons.

**Any idea how to replace a yearbook? I lost mine during my move from ISU back home and cannot find it. And I want it back...ok, about to cry about it again...

17) I'm in Cali as well. I think I've driven through IL, but that's about the extent of my direct knowledge. Other than knowing Courtney virtually for about 3.5 years.

I live in Milwaukee, WI. I was borm in Cleveland, OH and have also lived in Phoenx/Scottsdale, AZ, but consider Brew Town my hometown.

20) I'm from Springfield, IL now, as is my husband, Shoo, who went to high school with the Heinzels. Shoo grew up in Springfield, but I grew up in a small town about 20 miles south of here off I55.

I'm Denny & Niki's aunt, Dylan's great-aunt, Grant's aunt & Gigi's sister (I think those are all my relations here!). I'm originally from NC (Mooresville) but left there and moved to SC, then VA, then TN, then MN, and now I'm in Oregon (nearly 6 years). I loved the mountains of NC and TN best before Oregon but I really miss the people in MN whom I knew and grew to think of as family for 17 years. Denny invited me to become a Humdinger so I did! He could probably talk me into anything ... except moving back to NC. Too hot and humid for me. Hope you enjoy Humzoo as much as the rest of us addicted types.

22) Hi runt, I was born in New Jersey and grew up in North Carolina (Winston-Salem), taught in Richmond, Virginia, and ended up here in Springfield, Illinois, where I've lived for many years. I am pretty closely related to the person who left the first comment. I think you'll like it here!

25) Hi Runt, I live in Springfield, but not native, I am originally from a small town 60 miles west of Chicago and my Husband is from southern IL area, so no relatives on humzoo for me yet. I work with Dave, Limyegeorge, Minch, Joe, Hawkeye, Stape, Anne.. gee...hope I didn't forget anyone. And yes, it is addicting.

TO: Ericka P&Co. my youngest daughter just graduated from Southeast in 06 and was on yearbook staff for 2 years, she told me one time there are several copies of past yearbooks saved. I am sure if you called someone from sshs, they can get you another. I would hope anyway. We hosted a foreign exchange student from Germany around the time you and the Heinzels were at sshs, her name was Iris Dinkloh if any of you remember her. And we still keep in touch:)

26) I'm in Upstate NY, about 3 hours due north of New York City. I've never met Courtney IRL, but I fell into her baby forum gang sometime in 2004. I've changed planes in Charlotte and Chicago a few times.

28) I'm in Springfield Illinois. I went to grade school and high school with both Dave and Courtney.

29) Born in Winston-Salem, NC and grew up there and Jacksonville, FL. I now live a little north of Charlotte in Huntersville, NC and my family is still in Winston-Salem. Went to college in Wilmington, NC. The older I get the more I love NC. At one point wanted to live in CA or NY, but now having a kid makes you put other things in perspective like having a nice yard and plenty of room in the house. I am married to Denny who is from Mooresville, NC and a co-founder of the site.

30) SA Tenor I lived in S. IL myself...Norris City was the last town I lived in down that way. Some parts are just beautiful down there..others not so much.

32) runt, my husband is from Alton and my oldest now lives in Carbondale going to school at SIU (hoping to see graduation in the near future) It is very beautiful down there and when we met, I was living in DeKalb, IL and all he could talk about was how flat our area was. We are planning another C'dale visit next weekend. Hoping to hit the winery's :)

33) I lived in Alton for ten years as an adult. To me that isn't southern though...lol Now Carbondale is southern.

34) I went to school at SIUC too! I miss Southern Illinois.

I currently live in Louisville, KY, and I went to high school with Dave & Courtney. I have also lived in Davenport, IA - Cooperstown, NY - Daytona Beach, FL to name a few.

35) You lived in Cooperstown, Betsy??!! What a beautiful little town!! We visited there a few years ago and just loved it. Never saw a McDonald's!!
