Bakasana

I finally got it last night...
The Crow pose or Bakasana.

There is something pretty wonderful about the correlation I find in my Yoga practice and what seems to be going on in the world. My teacher was talking about basic physics. In order for something to go up...something must go down. This helps when trying to get your waist over your head while balancing on your arms. It's the see-saw effect.

And here we are in the world...see sawing away...looking for balance.

My teacher said something pretty poignant last night... We are all focusing on what we don't know but maybe we should focus on what we do know. She calls people the micro-granules of universal love. We are surrounded with support. Wrap your mind around that for five minutes and maybe you could balance into crow.

4) Awesome, my least favorite yoga postion is the child's pose only because I have a bad ankle. I don't know if I would ever quite get this one, but I guess practice makes perfect.

5) I could sleep in childs pose....Bad ankle would suck though. There is probably a modification you can do to make it more comfortable.

I had to have a spot the first few times but then I finally got it.

6) I would try this, but I'm pretty sure I'd fall on my nose.

9) Ya... childs pose was always my most favorite b/c I could finally relax and not be trying to stretch something that doesn't stretch!

10) Holy cow. I don't think my body would do that if I paid it a tray of brownies.
