2) Sure. I made two batches of the following recipe.
Servings:10-12
2 cups cake flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter
1 -1/4 cups sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons grated orange peel
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 large eggs
2 egg whites
1/2 cup milk
Preheat oven to 350 F. Butter 9 or 10" diameter (or you could use one of those angel food cake numbers). Mix cake flour, baking powder and salt and set aside. Beat butter, sugar, orange peel, and cloves in medium bowl until light/creamy texture. Mix in vanilla. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating well. Add eggs whites and beat until well blended, 2 minutesish. Beat in dry ingredients and alternate with milk. Spoon into pan. Cook about 45 minute. Check with toothpick or fork in center. If clean then it's time to let the cake cool. The end.
6) Sounds great. Looking forward to trying it. I have some blood oranges that would work. I'll hold on the strawberries until the Oregon ones come out--should be around Memorial Day.
