I used to work at a golf course and when I wasn't golfing or mowing fairways I was hunting for golf balls. My hobby of collecting golf club logo balls expanded to logo balls in general. At one time I had over 7000 golf balls in my collection. Part of the colored golf balls I found went into building a pyramid shown above; 650 golf balls.

1) That's very cool. Are they glued or do they stay that way? If someone comes along and plucks one out at the bottom do they all come a'tumblin' down?

2) Whoa...I want to reach out and grab one. Is there a story to go with this picture?

3) Linda - They are not glued and it was possible to pull out a couple without destroying the integrity of the pyramid. At one time Dave and I moved this pyramid from one side of my basement to the other side. In the picture above the frame is made of 1" X 2" wood - when Dave and I moved the pyramid the frame was made from molding, 3/4" X 1/2" !!!!

Leslie - I kept all the colored golf balls I found in a box and decided to do "something" with them rather than hide them away under a bench. I had seen a picture of a pyramid before and speculated I could manage a fairly good size pyramid with the golf balls I had found.

4) It's really impressive but I'm surprised no visiting child has been tempted to pluck a ball from the structure. Very creative and I have to be impressed with anyone with that many golfballs!

7) I was running out of space in the basement where I had my collection. The lack of space coincided with my retirement from the golf course as both a worker and a player. I gave my collection away, refused any money for it.

8) The good thing about that is someone else will enjoy it now--like recycling! It was a great collection and you have it on film any time you want to look at it again.
