A tale of the white tail: yesterday the birds were on an eating frenzy. In the morning while in the garage I spotted a sparrow with a white tail. I did not have my camera with me. Of course when I went to get the camera I spooked the birds, but they soon returned, but not white tail. This went on for a long time, they would feed, something would spook them so they would fly away, and then they would return once again. In the middle of the afternoon I saw the one with the white tail feather. I was shooting through the garage window and I know it needs cleaning for sharper pictures. The area shown in this picture is where I had the Christmas tree that we moved outside for the birds; I spread birdseed on the ground around the tree, Nancy strung Cheerios on yarn that we draped on the tree. Every year we do the same thing with our old Christmas tree. By the time Spring arrives the tree is brown and ready to be disposed of, which I did earlier this week.

1) Don't think I have ever seen a white tail.

2) New one for me too--wonder what caused it? Birds are just fascinating to watch! The jays seemed to have turned off on peanuts in the shell--I don't think my jays at the rental house ever did! Odd how different the two yards are for birds.
