Although the word fly is in their name, dragonflies, damselflies, mayflies, dobsonflies, alderflies, and fishflies are not technically flies. Flies are in the order called Diptera. All the other insects I mentioned belong to other orders, so they are not true flies. OK, enough said about that, let's look at some more non-flies.

1) This is a beautiful photo of one. I'm amazed at all the colors that I miss when they go zipping around. I'm amazed that you can take a photo with this kind of detail on an insect that rarely stops! :)

3) That's an insanely cool picture! I love it...the texture of the background, the muted colours....it has a really nice feel. You could frame that and put it on the wall.
