Freezing Berries

I LOVE berries of all kinds and that's part of why I love summer. I love when the prices drop and I can buy them guilt free. Like now, we have a great deal on a huge flat of blueberries. But you can't use them all before they go bad, so freeze them.

My brilliant neighbor, Dawn (maker of this creation http://www.humzoo.com/thekoenigs/photos/37/3/,) clued me in on this tip. Lay the berries out in a single layer on a metal cookie sheet. Put it in the freezer and after they freeze, put them in a ziploc bag. This prevents the clump of blueberries that you normally get by putting them fresh into the bag. I'm excited for huckleberry season this year!

Looks good. I love the berries too. One reason I can tolerate summer weather. You will really enjoy them mid-winter.

We'll have to take Baby Nichols up Teton Canyon for some huckleberry picking!
I've heard people are already hunting for them!
