1) I've never seen compression fittings used on CPVC. I stick to the primer and glue, literally. Using these kind of seems like you're planning on working on it again, since these would let you unscrew sections in the future.

2) These are relatively new types of compression fittings. Supposedly they will hold long term... I guess I will find out!!!!

3) I used to sell plumbing supplies. If you have CPVC, Copper, or Pex pipe, you can use fittings called Tectite ( http://www.elkhartproducts.com/downloads/Tectite_Brochu...) or another brand called Sharke Bite ( http://www.cashacme.com/prod_sharkbite.php). They are very popular and very easy to use. They can be expensive, but with the time you save, its worth it. I worked for a company called Ferguson Enterprises (www.ferguson.com) and I am sure there is one in your area. If not, most plumbing supply placesshould have it.
