Cloth Diaper Tutorial
Bek and I bought a few cloth diapers on Saturday and I thought it would be helpful to learn how to use them on some stuffed animals. Hilarity ensues.

1) I have ways to go before babies and diapers. But for some reason (go figure, totally random) I've been considering cloth diapers (for my children) lately - they just seem so much cheaper, better for the environment and better for baby. Looking forward to the baby cloth diaper review.

And according to my calculation, you two are due tomorrow! (I think I may have miscalculated...maybe not?) :)

2) Hayley,
You never know, baby could be here any minute or not! VEry suspenseful. The cloth diapers are super cute and there are sooooo many different types. It is hard to say what will work best for our baby. The cloth diapers these days are so much better and easier than the traditional safety pin cloth diaper. WE will let you know how it goes.

4) Yeah, I commend you guys for going the cloth diaper route - I had every intention of doing that with our first, Galvin, and even bought 50 of them with covers, liners, etc. After the first week or so, I was exhausted from doing everything with the baby, plus trying to keep up with cloth diaper laundry because they go through a lot more of those than disposables! Anyway, I totally caved in for the White Cloud brand. So, good luck, and let us know how it goes!!

PS. Will does know that real babies don't quite cooperate like stuffed animals, right??!! Oh, and the fold-down-in-front thing is recommended for boys. :O)

5) Will, you're doing a fantastic job...even with the prefold and snappi. You're a total pro.

7) Angi,
We are going to use disposables for the newborn phase because I am thinking I might feel overwhelmed at first. Maybe a month or two and then if we can keep up with the cloth diapers then we will go from there. We are going to really try our best. WE will see how it goes.

8) Good luck! I think that is great. We have to do disposable diapers at our daycare, so I guess we could have tried cloth diapers at night and on the weekends. I can barely get any laundry done right now with our schedule, so I can't imagine dirty diapers sitting in the laundry room. :)

I have a friend that used those same diapers for her son, and she chose to use the disposable ones at night so she would not have to go through a lot of work during the am hours with cleaning them out.

9) Awesome commitment to selecting the very best. Good luck although it looks like you already know what you're doing. We got some of those like you used last (the rectangle ones that you have to fold into shape) but have never used anything but disposables. With all the other work involved with a demanding little crying machine, its something we've just decided to not do.

10) Bek, I noticed an emphasis on "WE". You might be interested in this quote from Chris Martin:

"Men should always change diapers. It's a very rewarding experience. It's mentally cleansing. It's like washing dishes, but imagine if the dishes were your kids, so you really love the dishes."
